For the past 4 weeks we have been having Science in Tamaki College. Our goal was to create a moon rover that will move on the floor up to 3 meters. Today both year 7 and 8 classes got certificates for participating, as well as teachers.
I hope that you are having a very nice holiday with your family and friends. I love to see that you were involved in the Tamaki College Science programme. Making a moon rover must have been really interesting and pretty challenging! I am actually a high school science teacher and I used to make similar things with my students in Canada!
Right now, everyone in Canada is in school and they are working hard. A few of my former students are also logging onto the Manaiakalani sites to see if any of our students are participating in the Summer Learning Journey programme. I see that you had registered for the programme and I would love to encourage you to get involved. It's a lot of fun! It's also a great way to maintain your reading and writing skills over summer so that you're all ready for Year 8.
I'll check back in to see if you have joined the journey later in the week. Please consider logging into the Summer Learning Journey site (https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/welcome), completing some activities and blogging about it. Each blog is worth points and the student with the most points at the end of the summer will earn points. It could be you!
