Student Led Conference

Last night, we had "Student Led Conferences". Parents came to school to check their chidlrens learning. Instead of teachers, showing the learning around the classroom, students led the conference. We all had a script to help us remember what to say. Parents also had the chance to talk with the teacher after the conference. My mum was very proud of my learning. Hopefully, next year will be even much better.

12 Times Table
46 Seconds

Well done for taking the time to practise the times tables. You should practise regularly and always aim to improve on your personal best.
Take note of the question that took you longest to answer. Can you think of a way of remembering that answer for quicker recall next time? Can you learn from your fastest answer? Do you have a trick for remembering that table fact so quickly? Here is a printable form to write your Tips For Remembering on.
The average time taken to answer the 12 times table by all of the people who have ever attempted it is 67 seconds.
There are other activities that will help you improve your mastery of the times tables. They can be found on our Times Tables page.
This is my screenshot for my multiplication 12x tables. My scores are down below. They show how many seconds I have answered every single question. I think that I will be able to answer the question much quicker next time if I practice my 12 Times Tables more often.

Camp Recount

A Leap Of Faith

My first time taking a leap of faith that will forever stay in my memory. I had accepted the challenge to walk along the high beam with a rope of my lifeline. I made sure my harness was safe and secure before taking my first steps across the log. My harness was tightened onto my body which helped me overcome my worst fear - falling!

Once I reached the top, I could see a beautiful view of Hunua Ranges with it’s thousands of trees and the flooded waterfall. I didn’t know whether to smile or groan. I had already walked to the end of the log, but now i need to walk back to the middle. Words of encouragement had made everything much easier even though I was out of my comfort zone. Photos were being taken and team members were cheering.

I hugged the pole which felt like my new best friend only for a few seconds until someone called my name and asked me to turn around and walk to the middle again. I was wrong, wishing it could end. But I had to get everything over with so I wouldn’t be left with any regrets. So, I slowly, took a small footstep. After I had reached the middle, I had to jump off the high beam as it was the only way to get down. All of my trust was in one piece of rope and my dear friends and instructor controlling the rope.

Thankfully, that experience had helped me overcome my fear of heights. I don’t think I have ever been happier being on the muddy, wet ground. Everything was over which gave me a huge sigh of relief. I felt proud that I had achieved something I never imagined I could. I was finally able to breath
properly.

Multiplication Challenge - Fast Factors

I have been practicing my 12 x time tables using a game called "Fast Factors". In this game, I had to drag each number to the correct answer in the 12 x tables grid. I had to finish them all in a short period of time. This game also keeps track of the time. My best score to finish everything was in 20 seconds. I think that I can beat my score by practicing my 12 times tables everyday.
