Group 3's Oobleck Experiment

This is the movie that group 3 created on "How to be a scientist".  Our group decided to choose Oobleck as our experiment. The steps and methods were explained. Our movie was edited using iMovie to add the title and effects. 

Art at Tamaki College - Week 6

This week we had our third session of art at Tamaki College. I have been learning to find 10 images that relate to my culture, ten images that relate to my friends and family and 10 images that relate to my environment. 

Ticket To Space - Digital Learning Object

This is a poster that I have created based on a reading article that I have read. The article is about a astronaut called Scott Kelly. My poster is a persuading poster that shows the advantages of going into Space. 

Making an informed choice

LI - To make an informed choice Today, our class had a chance to make an informed choice. An informed choice is making a decision/choice from factual information. Our informed choice was based on whether to change the New Zealand flag or leave the flag as it is now.

We first started off by creating T-charts with our thinking groups. We found information about both sides on the internet and wrote them down. Later on, we all got together as a class and summed up all our ideas. At the end, every single person in our class, including teachers, received a voting paper. We had to make our final choice.

I chose the current flag because it has a lot of history, (Our soldiers fought under the flag) it is recognized worldwide and the new flag will cost 25.7 million dollars which will be a total waste.

Everyone had their own opinion about changing the flag, but we all respected each others choices.

Reciprocal Reading

This is a video of myself being the leader for my reading group in a task we have, called "Reciprocal Reading". In this task, we have questions that we need to answer as a leader and questions that we ask our group based on the story/article we have read. I think that I did quiet well but there are still other things that I can improve. For example, the way I speak. Next time, I think I should speak a bit louder and clearer so my group can understand what I am asking. I also think that I can add more detail in my questions if my teammates do not fully understand me. 

Great Mosque of Herat - Homelearning Week 7

I have created a Google Presentation this week for my Homelearning. My Homelearning this week was based on the 'Great Mosque of Herat'. I have worked collaboratively with Zeba to create this. We have added specific and informative info as well as pictures that give our reader a clear picture of the Mosque.

I have created a Google Drawing that shows the different interesting words for 'Happy'. I chose the words for 'happy'carefully because I needed to only choose the most interesting but understandable words. 

Current Events - Reading Can DO

I have chosen to create a DLO about the current events for my Reading Can Do. The article I have read is called "Asteroid flies close by Earth". I have added an image of the asteroid and have included specific and simple information about how the asteroid happened.  

Rounding Decimals Game

This is a screenshot of a online game that I have played today. The game helps me round decimals. There are 4 levels which have different stages. Each level is more diffucult as you complete each stage. I found this game easy because I got 10 correct and none incorrect in 2 minutes. Zeba and I also had a quick race to see who can answer the most questions the fastest. Over all, I really have enjoyed the game. 

Space Lucid Chart

I have read a article about a space journey based on Scott Kelly and his twin brother, Mark Kelly. My task for this DLO was to show the difference between the two brothers after Scott landed back on Earth. 

Oobleck DLO

Recently, my science group made Oobleck with Ms. K. I have worked collaboratively with one of my classmates to create this Google Drawing about the steps we had to follow and the outcome we ended up with. We also added pictures of us whilst the experiment. 

Read Theory

I have created a Google Drawing based on a reading site called 'Read Theory'. I have explained how the site works in detail and have also added images of my results.

This week, I have created a Prezi for my homelearning. Our homelearning this week was based on the 'Leaning Tower of Pisa'. Our task was to answer the 5 w's in detail. We also added images to show a clear picture of the tower.

This is an iFaketext that I have created with one of my classmates. We are currently learning how to use dialogue properly. By using this site, it helped us write our sentences ourselves using a interesting subject. 

   

Solving Decimal Word Problems

I have created a Digital Learning Object about a equation based on decimals for my maths. I have worked my problem out and show how I worked it out. I also explained why it did not work out.

Mona Lisa Homelearning

This week for home learning, our homework was based on Mona Lisa. This week, I worked with Mia. We had 5 interesting questions that we had to answer. We also decided to complete the challenge stage which was to find 5 interesting facts about 'Mona Lisa'. 

How to be a scientist

This is a Google Presentation that my group created on 'How to be a scientist'. Our group took our own photos to make our presentation more understandable. We also kept our definitions as simple and clear as possible.

Oobleck

Yesterday, we had our science session with Ms. K. My group made blue oobleck. We learn't all the ingredients needed for oobleck and the steps we needed to follow. I am really looking forward to our next science session next week.
