Commas DLO

This is a collaborative poster created by Charlize, Mahdia, Zahra, Zeba and Nazella. Our learning intention was to understand how putting punctuation in the wrong place can change the meaning of the text. It explains the definition of a comma, when to use them, why they are important and and a example. We have also added a simple clip art of what a comma looks like.

Buddy Writing - Shoes Paragraph

This is a digital learning object which consists of a picture prompt, plan and a paragraph. I have created this with my partner, Zeba. Our focus and learning intention was to: to use the 5 senses and personification to help us paint a picture with words. Zeba and I had 15 minutes to write the narrative together. We also had 5 minutes to proofread our story.

Bias

In my Reading Group, we have been focusing on a subject called Bias. Bias means one sided, in other words a tendency that is believed that some ideas are better than others.
Only one side of the argument is explained. The other side is not explained which is considered to be unfair. My Reading Group first looked into a example of how judges judged musical talents by the gender of people.
Based on the audition, people noticed that the judges preferred males rather than females. This is when they decided to have blind auditions. In this way, the judges were not able to see the gender of the person performing.

Problem Solving DLO

For Maths today, we have been learning to find a fraction of a number/amount. Before creating this DLO, I had to answer three other questions similar to the one above. We then chose a problem to create a DLO about. I have explained how I have worked out my equation.

Sub Prefix Word Wall and Paragraph

Today LS2 has been learning to understand the Sub Prefix. Sub means to go under or below. In groups of 4, we created a word wall. The word wall above shows a variety of different words that start with Sub. The words all have the meaning of under or below in it somewhere. After completing the word wall, we then started to write a paragraph using 8 or more of the sub words from our word wall. We have also underlined the sub words and made them bold to make it easier to notice.
