Group 3's Oobleck Experiment

This is the movie that group 3 created on "How to be a scientist".  Our group decided to choose Oobleck as our experiment. The steps and methods were explained. Our movie was edited using iMovie to add the title and effects. 

Art at Tamaki College - Week 6

This week we had our third session of art at Tamaki College. I have been learning to find 10 images that relate to my culture, ten images that relate to my friends and family and 10 images that relate to my environment.

This is a poster that I have created based on a reading article that I have read. The article is about a astronaut called Scott Kelly. My poster is a persuading poster that shows the advantages of going into Space. 

Making an informed choice

LI - To make an informed choice Today, our class had a chance to make an informed choice. An informed choice is making a decision/choice from factual information. Our informed choice was based on whether to change the New Zealand flag or leave the flag as it is now.

We first started off by creating T-charts with our thinking groups. We found information about both sides on the internet and wrote them down. Later on, we all got together as a class and summed up all our ideas. At the end, every single person in our class, including teachers, received a voting paper. We had to make our final choice.

I chose the current flag because it has a lot of history, (Our soldiers fought under the flag) it is recognized worldwide and the new flag will cost 25.7 million dollars which will be a total waste.

Everyone had their own opinion about changing the flag, but we all respected each others choices.

Reciprocal Reading

This is a video of myself being the leader for my reading group in a task we have, called "Reciprocal Reading". In this task, we have questions that we need to answer as a leader and questions that we ask our group based on the story/article we have read. I think that I did quiet well but there are still other things that I can improve. For example, the way I speak. Next time, I think I should speak a bit louder and clearer so my group can understand what I am asking. I also think that I can add more detail in my questions if my teammates do not fully understand me. 

Great Mosque of Herat - Homelearning Week 7

I have created a Google Presentation this week for my Homelearning. My Homelearning this week was based on the 'Great Mosque of Herat'. I have worked collaboratively with Zeba to create this. We have added specific and informative info as well as pictures that give our reader a clear picture of the Mosque.
