Cross Country

Yesterday, PBS went down to Dunkirk to have the Cross Country Races. For the past few weeks, we have been training to help us build endurance and keep the pace of our running. We learn't to control our breathing; breathe in from our mouths and breathe out from our noses. I ran four laps around the field in my year group.

Cross Country Training

For the past few weeks, both LS2 and LS1 have been training for Athletics every Monday to Wednesday. We train to help us build endurance and keep the pace of our running. We add an extra lap around the school every week.

Run, Jump, Throw

This term, our Kiwi sport is 'Run, Jump, Throw'. We had our second session with Andy today. Andy has taught us the basic rules of sprinting, which are:

  • Standing Tall
  • Looking Straight Ahead
  • Running in a straight line
  • Light Feet
  • High Knees
  • Cheek to cheek with arm movements
Andy also mentioned to us to never look at the starter as this slows us down.
We also learn't to step one meter away from the start line. I am looking forward to next weeks session.

Cross Country

Last week, we had cross country. The whole school participated in this. Adidas sponsored our school to help make this happen. Students who positioned in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, will go to Inter school Cross Country.
